Ly Nomad

My work is invested in questioning societal norms and assumptions with the perspectives that I’ve gained living in both Eastern and Western societies. In my art, I am the narrator of broken fairy tales fashioned using socially sentimental objects and characters that are created with culturally fetishized or idealized symbols. The painterly aesthetic of my prints, achieved with experimental photographic and printmaking techniques, builds a dreamy and innocent world that stands in oppositon to our sometimes twisted reality.
